book review attempt

Welcome to in-between the lines, a serene reading corner, (yeah, right, my nalgas!). Here you will find detailed or simple reviews depending on how lazy i am feeling.

A hardcover book with a linen-textured dust jacket in muted taupe and pale gray rests open on a clean, pale wooden desktop. Faint, elegant gold-embossed lettering catches soft afternoon light filtering in through an unseen window, creating gentle highlights on the cover and subtle shadows beneath the book. The background is softly blurred, with minimalist decor—a slender ceramic vase holding a single dried grass stalk. Photographed at a slightly elevated angle, the composition focuses on calm sophistication and the quiet joy of reading. The scene is serene, refined, and minimalist, perfectly suited for a sophisticated literary blog atmosphere.

the book that go my lazy ass to start reading

It was mid-2024 when I decided to start reading again, and honestly, I had no fucking clue where to begin. So, being the lazy ass human that I am, I went straight to the googles and typed: “libros en español y fáciles de leer.” Yep, because I prefer reading in Spanish, and look at me being fucking nice, translating this for you. You’re welcome!

After some quality internet chit-chat, I met A Perfect Story by Elísabet Benavent. That book rescued me from the dark abyss where my books were just sitting in the bookcase collecting dust. Okay, maybe my bookcase isn’t that gross, but let’s just say it’s not winning any cleanliness awards either. Was it the best book I’ve ever read? Norpe. But it was exactly what I needed to get off my fucking, open a book to read, not just in a attempt to dust it.

A Perfect Story has everything: fun, drama (like family drama because family can be assholes, yeah, I said what I said), and yes, some of the spicy scenes that are delightfully horny. The characters grow, face their fears, and break free from their shitty baggage. It’s the perfect book for the beach, by the fireplace, or crammed into a subway seat.

Starting, or restarting, your reading journey doesn’t mean you need a PhD in philosophy to figure out if the Earth is flat (calm the fuck down, folks, just kidding!). It’s about finding something simple and fun that makes you fall in love with words again and teaches you how to ignore family members because you’re too busy reading. And yes, audiobooks count as reading. We’re not debating that today!

If you came here for a detailed review, well… that sounds like a personal problem. Go buy the book and read it!

with lots of fucking love – ely
